Every summer, young Boston artists work alongside professional mural painters to conceptualize, design, and paint murals throughout the city.  Over the years, the Mayor's Mural Crew (MMC) has given hundreds of Boston's youth the chance to be active participants in the creation of public art.  A collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture and and the Engagement and Employment Division of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families, the MMC helps these apprentices to improve their skills and gain professional experience. Their work contributes  to the vitality of the city. The MMC serves as a model for innovative creative youth development linking art and community, and incorporating art into the fabric of our city.
